151: How to Be Okay With Not Knowing With Ruth

151: How to Be Okay With Not Knowing With Ruth

Today’s podcast episode is a little different, as I wanted to give you a little peek into what it’s actually like to get help and guidance for the things you are struggling with in your grief.

I’m so grateful to Ruth for being open, honest, and vulnerable, so that you could hear a bit of your own story, your own struggles, and then you will also know that you are not alone.

Ruth shares a little bit of her story with the death of her son Nicholas, here is what she says:

“We live in Cape Town, South Africa and our son, Nicholas was working as a Chemical Engineer in Texas. He was a golden child, words are not enough to describe his zest for life, beautiful nature and the opportunities that lay ahead of him after we had "launched" him into adult life. We received a call in the middle of the night 21 months ago to say he had been involved in a freak vehicle accident and had died instantly. We had messaged with him just half an hour before as was our daily custom. Our lives were turned upside down as we navigated this trauma and getting to the USA with Covid and all the restrictions and all the complex detail that has followed”

In our coaching session, Ruth wanted to know how she can find acceptance, or put down the spinning in a circle of trying to figure out what happened in the accident with Nicholas. The friend who was involved has completely shut down communication and won’t offer any answers to her. She described it as spinning in a cirlce that she can’t close.

Listen in to hear how we worked through this together, and how ultimately, Ruth can see a different persepctive, and has a completely different feeling and experience from when we started.

This work is life changing, and truly can shift your whole experience in your grief journey. Helping guide you forward and through, instead of spinning, cycling, and staying stuck for long periods of time.

Again, I want to thank Ruth for coming on, sharing her experience, and being so coachable and open to a different experience.
